The International Finance Corporation (IFC) has engaged CFP principal Sol Castro as international legal consultant to the development of pilot PPP micro hydroelectric systems in the Lao People’s Democratic Republic. The Lao Ministry of Energy and Mines intends to grant licenses to private investors that will build and operate micro hydro systems to energize villages not being currently served by Electricité du Laos, the state-owned generation and distribution company. Mr. Castro is also assisting IFC and the National Power Corporation in managing the competitive tender process for the Siquijor Island SPUG privatization transaction in the Philippines.
